Margins Press is a small independent South African printing press looking to publish unusual books that wouldn’t be considered by larger publishers. We’re looking for the antithesis of the super market block busters, the kinds of works that used to be published to meet smaller market niches.
We publish fiction and non-fiction but not:
- Anything not written in the English language;
- Poetry;
- Anything containing hate speech, racism or any other undesirable -ism;
- The sorts of works loved by vanity publishers (if your manuscript deals with your time in some military or is entitled something like ‘A Happy Childhood in the African Sun’, we’re unlikely to appreciate it); and,
- Works that look like the current supermarket block busters – clones of Harry Potter, Bridget Jones, Harry Jones, Bridget Potter, etc.
